Roberto Noya has 35 years of experience at senior levels in college admissions and enrollment management, including:
A graduate of New York University (BA in English literature) and the Harvard Graduate School of Education (M.Ed.), Noya also taught English at a Jesuit high school in Puerto Rico and has served as an academic advisor to high school and college students, moderated high school and college clubs and organizations, and mentored countless students and young professionals throughout his career.
Complementing this experience in college admissions is his engagement in professional organizations. Noya has served on the National SAT Committee of the College Board, as a regional representative of the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC), and as a member of the Enrollment Management Council of the University of Maine System and of the Advisory Board of the Maine Global Initiative. These activities have enabled Noya to keep abreast of admission practices at colleges and universities throughout the country and gain an appreciation for strategies employed by college counselors at some of the best high schools in the country.
As an independent college consultant, Noya continued his membership in NACAC and has also become a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA). In this way, Noya ensures that he will continue to keep abreast of developments in the college admissions arena and contribute productively to the educational consulting enterprise. All this, in turn, helps Noya provide his clients the best possible service.
Throughout his entire career as an educator, Noya has dedicated himself to encouraging students from all walks of life to reach high, to find the right college where they can feel comfortable but will also be stretched beyond their comfort zones, and to take full advantage of the remarkable opportunity that is college. As an enrollment manager, he diversified every institution he worked for and helped focus his institutions’ efforts on student success. As an independent counselor, he is motivated by these same set of values and is able to put his extensive knowledge to work for the benefit of families and colleges throughout the country and abroad.
